Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement (MSPE)

Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement Program a cutting-edge mental training program for athletes, coaches, and other performers. Drawing on research from the sport sciences, psychology, and neuroscience, it provides specific guidance in building mindfulness skills essential to consistent, optimal performance.

 

Rooted in the traditions of mindfulness-based stress reduction and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, Kaufman, Glass, and Pineau present "Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement" (MSPE), an empirically supported, six-session program that can be adapted for athletes or even performers in other high- pressure domains. Each MSPE session includes educational, experiential, and discussion components, as well as recommendations for home practice. There is special emphasis on incorporating mindfulness into workouts, practices, and competitions, as well as everyday life. This is a total of 12 hours with 6 sessions program online or in person. Durations and numbers of the sessions can be adapted according to the needs and circumstances or the participants.

 

All athletes and coaches know that peak performance requires more than just physical exertion. There is a psychological component as well, which can be expressed in attributes such as awareness, focus, emotion regulation, and motivation. MSPE is a systematic mental training program to serve this need. 

 

Each MSPE session includes educational, experiential, and discussion components, as well as recommendations for home practice. There is special emphasis on incorporating mindfulness into workouts, practices, and competitions, as well as everyday life. As there is a systematic progress in the exercises of the program, to protect the privacy of the participants no record is taken in sessions. 

 

PROGRAM DURATION : 

This is a total of 12 hours with 6 sessions (each week one session) program. Durations and numbers of the sessions can be adapted according to the needs and circumstances or the participants.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS :

Content is easily customized to any sport or for groups representing multiple sports. MSPE is designed to be administered in a group setting, but can also be used with an individual athlete or coach. The program can also be adapted for other performers, such as musicians, actors, business leaders, and more.

 

Program is suitable for anyone who wants to reach peak performance by increasing motivation, handling stress effectively, emotional self-regulation, resilience and building good communication skills. The program can also be adapted for other performers, such as musicians, actors, business leaders, and more.
